We develop equipments for iron ore pellets quality control in industrial facilities and laboratory. This is a very developed segment in Brazil, due to enterprises like CVRD, Samarco e Ferteco.

All brazilian manufacturers of iron ore pellets utilize our test equipments for laboratory compression tests, that has been also exported to Australia, Egypt, South Africa, Mexico, China, Canada and Iran.

Apparent Density Analyzer

The Apparent Density Analyzer (ADA) is powerfull instrument composed by a rotary table, a video camera, a high-precision electronic scale, an IBM-PC computer and a color printer.

ADA has been developed using a new generation technology based on image processing. This feature makes the equipment capable to perform the measurement of diameter, apparent volume, apparent density and porosity of a single pellet faster and more accurated than other traditional methods.

The operation is easy and interactive. A video camera captures several measures from a pellet on the rotary table. For each picture, the software calculates the equivalent diameter, surface area and volume of the pellet. After that, the operator transfer the pellet to the electronic scale, that sends the information to the computer to calculate the apparent density and porosity of the pellet.

Swelling index can be calculated using the apparent volume before and after reduction.
